Transcending Life
So this is an assignment I had to do for my life drawing class at uni.
Death is an inevitable experience, yet so many people fear their own mortality.
With this work, I wanted to depict death as something pure that does not have to be feared.
A majority of people who claim to have died before being brought back to life have said that during the experience they felt an overwhelming sense of peace and calm. This is the feeling I wanted to capture through the work. The subject patiently awaits his death as an overwhelming light begins to consume him.
I also wanted to incorporate the Spiritualist belief that the soul continues on after death. This is depicted through the disintegration of the man's body as his soul begins to exit his physical form.

Creature Concept Bust
It's been a while...I've been busy with work so haven't had much time to do my own thing lately. But tonight I really felt like doing some creature concepting, so here's what I came up with! :)
